The Dispensations of the Earth - A Welding link from Adam to the Future
The gospel of Jesus Christ has been taught to us since we were with our heavenly family before the world was created.
A gospel dispensation is a period of time during which a special stewardship is given to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ to every person on earth.
While serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I wanted to study the teachings of the various dispensations and the Prophets that were called to lead each dispensation, I quickly discovered that a book had not been written on the subject. After 15 years of research and study, I wrote this book.
I pray that sharing what I have learned will help strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ, just as mine has been.
Who is Jeremy Heath?
I am the 3rd of 10 children and I am a son of a military officer.
in July of 1986 my family lived on Hill Air Force Base and my older brother, a family friend and I went off base to the candy store to get some candy and on the way home we stopped under a tree to rest from the hot Sun, while we were there 2 boys that were about 15 or 16 years old approached us and asked for some candy, we declined and told them to get their own. one of them pulled out a small pocket knife and, sticking it into my left shoulder, told us to give them our candy. On August 14th 1986 I enrolled in a martial arts class and I have been training ever since, I currently hold the rank of 7th Dan Master in Tae-Kwon-Do and black belt rankings in multiple other styles of martial arts.
In October 1996 I was called to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was assigned to serve in the Thailand Bangkok Mission. While in the services of the people of Thailand I learned of the great importance that a relationship with God has for each of us and I also deepened my knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. it was at this time that I felt a desire to study the teachings of each of the dispensations of the gospel of Jesus Christ, specifically what was unique about each dispensation and how the teachings of one built onto the next leading up to our day, The dispensations of the Fullness of times. in November of 1998 I returned home form full-time missionary service and returned to regular life.
In February 1999 I married my wife, Jennifer and at this time we have been married for 26 years and we have 3 children they are Mary, Michael and Joseph.
I work as an independent Insurance agent, a Real Estate inspector and code consultant and a martial arts instructor.
After I returned home and got married I desired to continue my studies of the gospel of Jesus Christ, specifically the dispensations of the gospel, but i wan not able to find a book on the subject. on March 14, 2005 I began my in-depth study with the intention of writing this book.
What is the book about? what might I learn from reading it?
The book covers the dispensations or teaching periods of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are 7 primary or major dispensations of the gospel.
1. The dispensation of Adam. The purpose of the dispensation of Adam was to set the foundation for our return to the Father, being the father of mankind he was responsible for establishing the gospel on the earth.
2. The dispensation of Enoch. The purpose of the dispensation of Enoch was to establish Zion in the Hearts of the People, revealing what effect living the gospel of Jesus Christ can have on our eternal soul.
3. The dispensation of Noah.
The purpose of the dispensation of Noah was to restore unto the world the Ordinances and Covenants of the Priesthood, so that the powers of heaven may enter into our lives, which Ordinance, Covenants and powers are found only in and through the Temples of our Father.
4. The dispensation of Abraham. The purpose of the dispensation of Abraham was to again instill in the hearts of man the priesthood and the blessings of honoring the priesthood of God.
5. The dispensation of Moses. The purpose of the dispensation of Moses was to re-implant in the hearts of man to listen to the Prophet and heed His words.
6. The dispensation of Christ. The purpose of the dispensation of Christ is indispensable, the Atonement. The great and last sacrifice, the infinite Atonement, the bondless power to exalt the human family. Without the events of the dispensation of Christ there would be no hope, no reason and no purpose in the creation of mankind.
7. The dispensation of the Fullness of times. The purpose of this, our dispensation is to prepare the earth of the culmination of the work of God, to prepare a welding link to bind the hearts of the children to their fathers in preparation of the return of the Messiah.
...shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free. (D & C 128:18, 22)
